Abstract
In this paper the characteristics of the global ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) Industry has been provided. There have been specified the most significant processes shaping ICT, in the context of three major dimensions: market, technological and economic. The sources and the consequences of those processes have been distinguished in terms of several variables such as firms, their customers, competition, co-operation and also industries.
