Abstract
En este artículo analizamos el fenómeno del emprendimiento, en dos etapas diferenciadas. En la primera de ellas, para la que hacemos uso de la base de datos EU-LFS, estudiamos las correlaciones existentes entre la decisión de emprender y diversas características individuales, así como las diferencias que existen en dichas correlaciones en función del nivel educativo del individuo. Además, realizamos un análisis por zonas geográficas siguiendo el geo-esquema para Europa de la Unión Europea. En una segunda parte, en la que hacemos uso de la base de datos EWCS, prestamos atención a la correlación entre la decisión de emprender y tres ámbitos (emocional, de salud y de intensidad laboral) vinculados con el trabajo, para lo que desarrollamos en primera instancia un análisis factorial. Nuestros resultados muestran que todos ellos, en mayor o menor medida, se correlación con la decisión de trabajar por cuenta propia.
