Abstract

In this paper, the time spent on transport by Spaniards and Aragonese is analyzed, focusing on knowing if these transports are healthy and / or sustainable. To carry out this analysis, we used the Spanish Time Use Survey (EUT) for the years 2009 and 2010 for all individuals over 16 years of age. We did not find significant differences between the set of individuals surveyed at the national level and the Aragonese. Together with this, we study whether the weather influences this type of transport and habits, including a series of variables from the Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET). After conducting a descriptive analysis, we focus on an econometric one in which it is found that the weather conditions are hardly relevant, both in the time spent on transport and on the decision to carry out each of these transport in a sustainable and / or healthy way. Except for the role of the wind that increases the total and physical transport time, doing the same with the proportion of the latter over the total.
