Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of a number of government programs of the People’s Republic of China, which provided the country with world leadership in the development of solar energy. Since 2014, China has set goals for renewable energy electrification and poverty alleviation in poor regions of the country. It seems that a number of aspects of these programs may be useful in the development of Russian strategies for the development of the renewable electricity.
