Abstract
How important is Japanese bilateral aid for the economic development of the recipient country ? Since the high point of Japanese aid in the late 1990s, the aid has declined in constant monetary unit but is still significant. In this paper I use a bounded rationality model to study the impact of Japanese aid on Bangladesh. I also examine some political economy issues and related bureaucratic behavior.
