How to ask for removal of a paper

Papers submitted after July 15, 2009 cannot be removed from the archive, as such submissions included an agreement to grant the permanent right to publish the paper at MPRA. This change was necessary because too many unreasonable and unfounded requests for removal were made, and such removals corrupt the integrity of the archive, apart from entailing unnecessary work for our volunteers.

  1. Print these instructions.
  2. Log in.
  3. Click "Manage deposits."
  4. Check the checkbox "live archive;" uncheck the other checkboxes.
  5. Click the paper you want to update.
  6. Select "Actions."
  7. Click "Request deletion."
  8. Read the reasons why it is against your interest and against the interest of the community to remove an item from the archive.
  9. If these reasons convince you (as we hope) to leave your paper in the archive, click "Cancel."
  10. Otherwise tell us in the e-mail form which publisher has forced you to remove the paper from the archive or which compelling reasons induce you to insist on deletion. Note that we may feel inclined to ban your contributions, past and present, from the archive if you don't supply any good reason. We don't like to see the archive (and our voluntary work) misused.
  11. Click "Send."
  12. Don't pester us with e-mail inquiries, as the data will disappear from MPRA and various RePEc services not immediately, but with a delay. Wait for at least two weeks before you inquire about a requested deletion.
  13. Inquiries regarding other RePEc services (IDEAS, EconPapers, etc.) should be directed to these services and will ignored by MPRA.
