Abstract

With the present contribution, we analyze in brief the deeds in politics, economics, diplomacy , religion and culture of a Byzantine medieval princess, Theophano, who became a Kaiserin, that is, an Empress of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation, during her reign between 973–983 AD. We argue that under her rule she contributed to the strengthening of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation in the following centuries.
