Abstract

The island of Madagascar, situated in the Indian Ocean, has borne witness to recurring socio-political crises over the past decades that have profoundly impacted its economic development. This article meticulously examines the correlation between economic growth and these crises, employing a robust statistical methodology. Through meticulous analysis of empirical data, we discern the economic and institutional factors that catalyzed these tumultuous periods. Thefindings underscore the paramount importance of political stability and economic variables such as growth, inflation, and unemployment in determining the likelihood of crisis. The ramifications for policy and economic decision-makers in Madagascar are substantial, providing valuable insights to preemptively anticipate and mitigate the repercussions of future crises. This study elucidates underlying mechanisms and reinforces the imperative for steadfast governance and judicious economic management to foster sustainable, long-term development.
