Abstract
This paper observes the Irish migrations during the Great Recession and analyses their relation with its adjustment. This scrutiny refers to enlarged OCA (Optimum Currency Area theory) when the Rest of World is considered. The Irish case is a good example of this new approach and particularly about the Mundellian criterium of labor mobility. But by its specific outside Europe globalisation and its strong migratory reactivity during the recent crisis, Ireland represents a borderline case.
