Abstract

This paper examines the determinants of inflation in six countries of Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CAEMC). To achieve this objective, we used a panel model estimated by fixed effects over the period from 1996 to 2016. The econometric analysis shows that the money supply has a positive and very significant effect on inflation while political stability has a negative and very significant effect on inflation in this area. Management of the money supply and the maintenance of political stability are essential for the control of inflation in this area.
