Abstract
The study of Oranges Sector in Egypt: Performance and Policies dealt with Importance of Citrus in Egyptian Agriculture, A profile of Major Changes in Egyptian Economy Policies, Lessons from Previous Agricultural Development Plans, The Policies Geared To Agricultural Supply, Objectives of the Existing Agro‐Food Policies, Input Policies, Oranges production Policy, Impacts of Variety and Season on Orange Production, Economic feasibility of Egyptian Orange Production, Oranges Marketing, Supply and Price seasonality of the Egyptian Orange Market, and Estimation of the aggregate Marketing Efficiency which included Marketing Efficiency = (Marketing costs/Total Costs) x 100. in addition to all above indicators the study analyzed the Agricultural Foreign Trade Policy, General Theme of the Egypt‐EU Partnership Agreement, Agricultural Products Trade in Egypt‐EU Partnership Agreement such agreement was investigated via Orange Trade privileges in the agreement, Non‐Tariff Barriers on Egyptian Exports. the impact of Growth of Land Use, Yield and Farm price of Egyptian Orange was investigated. Risk Assessment of Egyptian Orange Production in Egypt was quantitively assessed in addition to the impacts of Impacts of National Economic Policies on Oranges Exports, and Impacts of the Economic liberation on Egyptian Oranges Self‐sufficiency. Egyptian Orange Exports was investigated from several dimensions: The Geographical Centralization of Egyptian Orange Exports, The Market Share of Egyptian Orange in Imported Countries, The Egyptian Orange Price versus the Major Competitors in the World. The Domestic demand for oranges in Egypt was concerned. The domestic demand function for orange was estimated. Obstacles Facing Exports of Egyptian Orange where specified. And the study ended by Recommendations Cited by Stakeholders.
