Abstract

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is rich in natural resources, but its economy remains vulnerable to fluctuations in commodity prices. Endogenous economic diversif ication, a concept aimed at broadening a country’s economic base by utilizing its own resources and capacities, could offer a pathway to sustainable and self-sustaining development in the DRC. This paper explores the Theory of Endogenous Diversification by examining its theoretical foundations, international experiences, and specific strategies applicable to the DRC, integrating mathematical developments to support this new theory.
