Abstract
The present paper presents an empirical consideration from the data collected of the National Institude of Health in Colombia (2020) related to the confirmed cases of Covid-19. This study does not pursue to predict or forecast the growth of the contamination since it is not derived and does not have any linkage to the epidemiologic discipline. The methodology parts from a descriptive analysis of the principal characteristics of the cases, basic correlation analysis and three regression models which covers the variables of sex, average age, number of importers of the virus (derived of travels outside Colombia) and the number of cases which were non-directly related to the importers. The results evidence that contagious per day are not determined by age or sex, but there are statistically significant correlated with the number of importers of the virus and the number of non-directly infected.
