Abstract

This article discusses the evolution of both the techniques of museum management, as the concept of collection. It has made a historical view of museums in the Christian era and the art market. It begins with analysis of museum as a guardian of treasures, since the Middle Ages, the collections function as monetary reserve. With the advent of oil, beginning on the art trade, for what both consumption and stimulate the economy, appearing also speculator and the market of false works. Then the paper descrives the emergence of the Public Museum to be cases such as the Ashmolean Museum, writes that in 1714, in Latin, the regulation of its operation, providing for the administration of the museum, training catalogs, surveillance, hours and admission fees. Describes the birth of the Louvre and the British Museum, and their different conceptions museum and finally, is the introduction in the late nineteenth century in the U.S. European market for works of art. The article ends by analyzing the American´s museums
