Abstract

This study examines the impact of conservative ideologies on gender dynamics in the USA and India since 2010, focusing on their effects on women and families. Using qualitative and quantitative methods, the research explores how conservative movements, policies, and cultural norms have influenced gender roles and expectations. Data collection includes an extensive literature review and policy analysis, defining conservatism in each country and highlighting its ties to profit-driven ideologies, traditional gender roles, and systemic oppression.

The study traces the historical evolution of conservatism in India and the USA, analyzing factors such as religion, post-colonialism, male dominance, economic conditions, and cultural influences. It examines key events shaping gender equality and the current state of conservatism, with a focus on the BJP’s policies in India and the Republican Party's influence during the Trump administration in the USA. These analyses underscore conservatism’s role in shaping political representation, economic opportunities, and social norms, often reinforcing gender disparities.

The research introduces Project NeoWave, a progressive framework representing the fifth wave of feminism. It explores themes such as nuanced women’s rights, new domesticity, and systemic changes to promote equality. By addressing the development of gender minorities, this movement critiques radical feminism while proposing innovative strategies for inclusivity.

A comparative analysis identifies similarities and differences in conservatism’s impacts on gender dynamics in both nations, assessing employment opportunities, wage gaps, political representation, and the influence of religion and tradition. The study evaluates policies and initiatives aimed at mitigating gender disparities and highlights successful approaches. Recommendations focus on integrating Project NeoWave’s progressive principles with conservative values to develop effective, balanced policies.

This research contributes to the discourse on conservatism and gender dynamics by providing a comprehensive framework for understanding these interactions. It offers actionable insights for policymakers, scholars, and advocates, fostering strategies to build a more equitable society.
