Abstract
In this investigation, a verification list (“checklist”) of characteristics is constructed that allows to outline in a differentiated way the manifestation of the different forms of Violence Between Couples (VEP) in the home (Psychological, Economic, Physical and Sexual) that flourishes at the woman To do this, based on the Ecological Approach to Violence (EEV) which establishes that the VEP should be analyzed based on individual, home and societal factors, a series of probabilistic models were estimated. Given the high dimensionality of the phenomenon analyzed, it was necessary to use the LASSO estimator, which could make a selection of variables and with this build the "checklist". Then, with these variables, the Relative Dominance Index (RDI) was built, which allows designing a ranking based on the contribution that each variable contributes to the total variance, by type of VEP. The results suggest that the variables that contribute the most are: the experience of having suffered violence during adolescence by the affected woman and her spouse (intergenerational violence or vertical transmission); the level of violence in the community setting (community contamination effect or horizontal transmission); and other associated variables, such as the frequency of marriage and unions of the woman, lack of access to education in the spouse, the age difference, among others. Finally, using "Machine Learning" strategies for "Oversampling", the probability scores of suffering VEP by type of Violence were estimated, based on the selection of variables produced by the LASSO estimator.
